Natural Gas extends rally on cooling demand prospects

Natural Gas futures rallied in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators booked fresh positions in the energy commodity as latest weather forecasts called for above-normal temperatures in the US that may boost demand from gas-fired power plants.
The MDA Weather Services has called for warmer than usual weather across most of the contiguous US from May 4 through May 13, 2015.
At the MCX, Natural Gas futures for May 2015 contract is trading at Rs 166 per 1 kg, up by 0.24 per cent after opening at Rs 165.8, against the previous closing price of Rs 165.6. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 166.2 till the closing. (At 12:28 PM).
