Upbeat German factory data lifts Zinc

Zinc futures surged in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators booked fresh positions in the industrial metal as a rebound in German industrial output in February signaled a pickup in Europe’s biggest economy, lifting the demand outlook for industrial metals.
German industrial output climbed by 0.2 per cent in February from the previous month, when it fell 0.4 per cent.
At the MCX, Zinc futures for April 2015 contract closed at Rs 135.65 per 1 kg, up by 1.04 per cent after opening at Rs 134.15, against the previous closing price of Rs 134.25. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 135 till the closing.
