Coriander futures edge lower on sluggish demand

Coriander prices were down by 0.7 per cent at Rs 10,580 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand. Besides, adequate stocks position in the physical market on higher supplies from producing region put pressure on coriander prices. At the NCDEX, coriander futures for May 2015 contract was trading at Rs. 10,580 per quintal, down by 0.7 per cent after opening at Rs. 10,500 against the previous closing price of Rs. 10,655. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 10,433 till the trading. (At 11.45 AM today). Coriander is common in South Asian, Middle Eastern, Central Asian, Mediterranean, Indian, Tex-Mex, Latin American, Portuguese, Chinese, African, and Scandinavian cuisine.
