Crude oil dips as API data eyed

Crude oil prices eased on Tuesday as traders remained on the sidelines and refrained from buying activity with Tokyo shut and investors looking ahead to US industry data on crude and refined product stockpiles.
Later today, the American Petroleum Institute will release crude, gasoline and distillate stocks for last week, to be followed Wednesday by more closely-watched data from the US Department of Energy.
At the MCX, crude oil futures for May 2015 contract were trading at Rs. 3,751 per barrel, down by 0.03 per cent, after opening at Rs. 3,746 against the previous closing price of Rs. 3,752. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 3,745 till the trading. (At 12.15 PM today). Japanese markets are closed today to mark Children's Day public holiday, a period commonly known as Golden Week. Markets are closed through Wednesday and re-open on Thursday.
