Mentha oil futures extend losses, down on sluggish demand

Mentha oil prices fell further by 3.27 per cent to Rs 963.50 per kg in futures trade today largely due to fall in demand at spot markets from consuming industries.
At MCX, Mentha oil futures for May 2015 contract, at MCX, were trading at Rs. 963.50 per kg, down by 1.53 per cent after opening at Rs. 969.90 against the previous closing price of Rs. 978.50. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 939.40 till the trading. (At 2.50 PM today).
Traders said offloading of positions by speculators due to fall in demand from consuming industries against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
