Muted demand drags down zinc futures by 0.69%

Zinc futures were trading lower during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Thursday as participants trimmed their positions on the back of fall in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
Further, a decline in demand for zinc at the domestic spot market was led by cut down of bets by traders in the spot markets, influenced zinc prices at futures trade. At that MCX, zinc futures for August 2016 contract is trading at Rs 151.65 per kg, down by 0.69 per cent, after opening at Rs 152.30, against a previous close of Rs 152.70. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 151.40 (at 12:49 hours).
