Copper futures were trading lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as speculators trimmed positions to book profits. Muted demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market also put pressure on prices.
Analysts said apart from profit-booking, sluggish demand at domestic spot markets, led to a fall in copper prices at futures trade here.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2017 contract was trading at Rs 455.70 per kg, down by 1.16 per cent, after opening at Rs 460.00, against a previous close of Rs 461.05. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 453.25 (at 17:40 hours).
