Copper futures slide on muted demand

Copper futures were trading lower in the domestic market on Tuesday as participants indulged in reducing positions amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders due to a weak trend at the domestic spot markets amid muted demand from consuming industries, led to the fall in copper prices at futures trade here.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2017 contract was trading at Rs 450.80 per kg, down by 0.02 per cent, after opening at Rs 450.05, against a previous close of Rs 450.90. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 447.25 (at 12:26 hours).
