Crude oil dips on rising US crude stockpile

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as a second weekly rise in U.S. crude stockpiles and record domestic production halted earlier attempts to rebound. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported early Wednesday that domestic crude supplies rose 1.9 million barrels for the week ended Feb. 2. At the MCX, crude oil futures for February 2018 contract closed at Rs 3972 per barrel, down by 3.10 per cent, after opening at Rs 4109, against a previous close of Rs 4099. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 3948.
