Copper futures fall 0.70% as speculators trim positions
19/03/2018 11:58
Copper futures were trading higher during the noon trade in the domestic market on Monday as speculators offloaded bets, tracking a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).

Analysts attributed the fall to offloading of positions by participants amid muted demand at the domestic spot market and weakness in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on firm dollar amid concerns that tensions between the world's top two economies could dent metals demand.

At the MCX, copper futures for April 2018 contract is trading at Rs 445.40 per kg, down by 0.70 per cent, after opening at 447.50, against a previous close of Rs 448.5. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 444.10 (at 12:00 hours).
