Crude oil up on stock drop in storage hub

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Monday following a reported drop in crude stocks at the U.S. storage hub in Cushing, Okla. Prices had seen some support from reports of temporary supply disruptions in Libya over the weekend and traders weighed comments from the International Energy Agency on U.S. production and global demand growth. At the MCX, crude oil futures for March 2018 contract closed at Rs 4073 per barrel, up by 1.95 per cent, after opening at Rs 4006, against a previous close of Rs 3995. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 4088.
