Gold dips on upbeat US job data

Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday pressured by upbeat February data on U.S. private sector jobs as the dollar tried to rebound from a decline in the previous session. Prices for the metal declined further after the release of the Fed Beige Book, which offered a snapshot of US domestic economic activity. At the MCX, gold futures for April 2018 contract ended at Rs 30493 per 10 grams, down by 0.26 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,650 against a previous close of Rs 30,573. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 30,394.
