Crude oil dips on trade war fears

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Monday as investors fretted about a surprise build of stockpiles at key storage port in Cushing, Okla., while intensifying trade-war fears also fostered worries about demand for crude. China imposed duties on more than 100 U.S. agricultural goods, following through on a promise to retaliate against President Donald Trump’s duties on imports of Chinese steel and aluminum. At the MCX, crude oil futures for April 2018 contract closed at Rs 4112 per barrel, down by 2.88 per cent, after opening at Rs 4246, against a previous close of Rs 4234. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 4104.
