Gold dips as global trade tension eases

Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Tuesday as equities attempted to bounce back from the previous session’s rout and worries over global trade tensions appeared to take a breather. Analysts said the next important piece of data that may help influence commodity trade is a reading of private-sector employment from ADP Inc. due on Wednesday. At the MCX, gold futures for April 2018 contract ended at Rs 30611 per 10 grams, down by 1.03 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,681 against a previous close of Rs 30,931. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 30,582.
