Gold dips on firm US dollar

Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Tuesday weighed by strength in the dollar, but drawing some investment interest on the back of declines in the U.S. stock market. Gold was still being kept in check by the firm U.S. dollar, which has profited from the widening of interest-rate differences between the U.S. and Europe At the MCX, gold futures for June 2018 contract ended at Rs 31224 per 10 grams, down by 0.11 per cent, after opening at Rs 31,228 against a previous close of Rs 31,258. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 31,078.
