Gold rises as Fed release minutes

Gold futures closed higher in the domestic market on Wednesday after the release of minutes from the Federal Reserve’s May meeting. Sentiment has turned sour among global stock indices, due to the ongoing selloff in Italian assets amid the political turbulence in the nation and after U.S. President Donald Trump cast doubt over the North Korea-U.S. summit taking place in June. At the MCX, gold futures for June 2018 contract ended at Rs 31187 per 10 grams, up by 0.25 per cent, after opening at Rs 31,125 against a previous close of Rs 31,108. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 31,389.
