Crude oil dips as OPEC likely to boost output

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Friday on expectations OPEC and its allies will agree next week to boost output. Saudi Arabia, the de facto leader of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, is considering an output boost of 500,000 to 1 million barrels a day, while Russia is weighing a rise of as much as 1.5 million barrels a day. At the MCX, crude oil futures for June 2018 contract closed at Rs 4432 per barrel, down by 1.88 per cent, after opening at Rs 4545, against a previous close of Rs 4517. It touched an intra-day low of Rs 4373.
