Gold dips as investors eyed trade tensions
07/06/2018 07:48
Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors continued to eye trade tensions ahead of a meeting later this week of the Group of Seven leading industrialized nations. Prices had seen gains earlier in the session as the dollar deepened its decline when trade data revealed a narrowed U.S. deficit. G-7 nations will hold talks in Canada on Friday and Saturday, where tariffs and trade are likely to be discussed. At the MCX, gold futures for August 2018 contract ended at Rs 30848 per 10 grams, down by 0.64 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,981 against a previous close of Rs 31,046. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 31,084.
