Crude oil up on decline in gasoline stocks

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Wednesday finding support from a bigger-than-expected decline in gasoline stocks, despite a surprise climb in domestic crude supplies and record weekly production. The Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday that domestic US crude supplies climbed 5.8 million barrels for the week ended July 13. At the MCX, crude oil futures for July 2018 contract closed at Rs 4702 per barrel, up by 0.71 per cent, after opening at Rs 4629, against a previous close of Rs 4669. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 4705.
