Gold futures close lower as dollar rises

Gold futures ended lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants trimmed their bets on yellow metal, as US dollar strengthened against major currencies. At the MCX, gold futures for December 2018 contract ended at Rs 31939 per 10 grams, down by 0.39 per cent, after opening at Rs 31970 against a previous close of Rs 32064. It touched the intra-day high and low of Rs 32029 and Rs 31785 respectively.
