Gold rises ahead of Fed minutes release

Gold prices rose by 0.40 per cent on Wednesday at the domestic markets as investors continued to see bargains ahead of U.S. Federal Reserve minutes. The Federal Reserve will release the minutes from its June policy meeting on Wednesday, and investors avoided the greenback as uncertainty persists as to what the U.S. central bank will do with interest rates next year. Gold futures for August 2014 contract, at MCX, were trading at Rs. 27,630 per 10 grams, up by 0.40 per cent after opening at Rs. 27,545 against the previous closing price of Rs. 27,519. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 27,698 till the trading. (At 11.43 AM today).
