Natural Gas futures rally after supplies data

Natural Gas futures rose in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators booked fresh positions in the energy commodity tracking a firm trend in the overseas market as US gas stockpiles rose largely on expected lines last week, easing concerns over abundant supplies in the market. US gas stockpiles rose 100 billion cubic feet to 1.929 trillion cubic feet in the week ended June 27, 2014. At the MCX, Natural gas futures for July 2014 contract closed at Rs. 261.60 per mmBtu, up by 0.31 per cent, after opening at Rs 260.40, against the previous closing price of Rs 260.80. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 263.90.
