Copper futures were trading lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as speculators trimmed their positions amid a weak trend in global markets.
Analysts said a weak trend in most industrial metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on lacklustre economic data from the world's top consumer of base metals China and rising inventories mainly weighed on copper futures here.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2017 contract was trading at Rs 439.85 per kg, down by 0.63 per cent, after opening at Rs 441.50, against a previous close of Rs 442.65. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 436.75 (at 12:50 hours).
