Zinc futures dip 0.38% on sluggish demand

Zinc futures were trading lower during the late noon trade in the domestic market on Thursday as traders cut down bets, tracking a weak trend at domestic spot markets due to fall in demand from consuming industries.
Analysts said apart from trimming of positions by speculators to book profits, low demand at the domestic spot markets, weighed on zinc prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, zinc futures for October 2018 contract was trading at Rs 195.45 per kg, down by 0.38 per cent, after opening at Rs 195.50, against a previous close of Rs 196.20. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 193.70 (at 15:40 hrs).
