Gold slides on global cues, muted demand

Gold futures were trading lower in the domestic market on Monday tracking a weak trend overseas amid easing demand from local jewellers.
Traders said a weak trend overseas as the US dollar grew in strength, investors waited for more insight on US tax cut plans and the related Fed policy, mainly dampened the sentiment.
At the MCX, gold futures for December 2017 contract is trading at Rs 29656 per 10 grams, down by 0.11 per cent, after opening at Rs 29646, against a previous close of Rs 29690. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 29634 (at 15:04 hours)
