Crude oil dips on Trump’s comments

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Tuesday as President Donald Trump at the United Nations assembly reiterated calls on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to lower oil prices and said the U.S. would take action if it didn’t.
Oil prices have been mostly rallying, boosted in part by Trump’s decision to pull out of a 2015 Iran nuclear accord and renew sanctions on the country, which are aimed at sharply curtailing the major producer’s exports.
At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2018 contract closed at Rs 5266 per barrel, down by 0.13 per cent, after opening at Rs 5284, against a previous close of Rs 5273. It touched an intra-day low of Rs 5242.
