Crude oil rises as US not to release oil reserves

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Thursday as U.S. officials said the sale of domestic reserves wouldn’t be used to undercut a rally in crude. Anticipation of supply disruptions caused by the renewal of sanctions on Iran also continued to underpin prices. At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2018 contract closed at Rs 5243 per barrel, up by 0.59 per cent, after opening at Rs 5250, against a previous close of Rs 5212. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 5284.
