Crude oil futures surge ahead of Iran sanctions

Crude oil futures closed at record high in the domestic market on Monday as traders remained wary as deadline for oil buyers to comply with U.S. sanctions on Iran inches closer. Anticipation of supply disruptions caused by the renewal of sanctions on Iran also continued to underpin prices. At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2018 contract closed at Rs 5508.00 per barrel, up by 3.24 per cent, after opening at Rs 5344.00, against a previous close of Rs 5335.00. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 5512.00.
