Lead surges 0.44% in futures trade

Lead futures were trading higher during the noon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as speculators built up positions amid rise in spot demand and firm trend in overseas markets.
Market analysts said raising of bets by traders after pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the physical market chiefly influenced lead prices in futures trade.
At the MCX, lead futures for October 2018 contract is trading at Rs 147.05 per kg, up by 0.44 per cent, after opening at Rs 147.30, against a previous close of Rs 146.40. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 147.6 (at 12:52 hours).
