Crude oil dips on rise in crude stockpiles

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday after a weekly U.S. government report revealed a surprise rise in crude stockpiles but larger-than-expected declines in supplies of gasoline and distillates.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that domestic crude supplies rose by 2.2 million barrels for the week ended Nov. 3. That was contrary to the forecast for a decline of 2.7 million barrels from analysts.
At the MCX, crude oil futures for November 2017 contract closed at Rs 3682 per barrel, down by 1.39 per cent, after opening at Rs 3717, against a previous close of Rs 3734. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 3666.
