Copper futures rise 1.48% on spot demand

Copper futures were trading higher in the domestic market on Monday on speculative buying after firm trend at spot markets.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants following pick up in demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, mainly led to rise in copper prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, copper futures for February 2018 contract was trading at Rs 439.30 per kg, up by 1.48 per cent, after opening at Rs 435.00, against a previous close of Rs 432.90. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 440.40 (at 12:30 hours).
