Crude oil rises as dollar weakens

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Thursday as the U.S. dollar continued to weaken, while the global oil benchmark largely erased losses. A weaker buck can be a positive for commodities priced in dollars, making them cheaper to users of other currencies. At the MCX, crude oil futures for February 2018 contract closed at Rs 3901 per barrel, up by 2.04 per cent, after opening at Rs 3850, against a previous close of Rs 3823. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3933.
