Gold futures drop marginally as traders cut bets

Gold futures were down today as speculators cut bets even as the metal strengthened overseas.
Market analysts said the fall in gold futures was mostly attributed to offloading of positions by participants despite a firm trend in global markets.
At the MCX, gold futures for April 2018 contract is trading at Rs 30740 per 10 grams, up by 0.25 per cent, after opening at Rs 30763, against a previous close of Rs 30816. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 30725 (at 12:02 hours).
