Crude oil falls 2% ahead of US crude inventory data release

Crude oil futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants trimmed position at current levels ahead of the release of US crude inventory data. At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2018 contract closed at Rs 5449 per barrel, down 2.24 per cent, after opening at Rs 5545, against a previous close of Rs 5574. During the day’s trade, it touched an intra-day high of Rs 5576 and low of Rs 5414 respectively.
