Crude oil rises on dipping US crude supply

Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Tuesday after the American Petroleum Institute reported that U.S. crude supplies dropped by 8.6 million barrels for the week ended Sept. 7. The API data, however, showed supplies of gasoline up 2.1 million barrels and distillate stockpiles climbed by 5.8 million barrels, sources said. At the MCX, crude oil futures for September 2018 contract closed at Rs 5042 per barrel, up by 2.56 per cent, after opening at Rs 4905, against a previous close of Rs 4916. It touched an intra-day high of Rs 5054.
